Hey! Welcome to Domestically Blissful! I’m Giustina, a home loving wife navigating through the beautiful blue waters of marriage, love, and life.
During my first year of marriage/last year of college I was
occasionally constantly posting pictures on facebook of crafts & recipes I had made & I started to notice a lot of comments from friends & family asking me how I did what I did. With their encouragement I started dreaming about starting my own blog where I could share the vegetarian recipes we love so much, along with my crafting adventures, & what I had learned thus far in marriage. Some days I spent more time researching how to blog than actually studying – oops!!! As soon as I graduated I bought my domain. I was a little shy at first, but after a few months I shared my blog with my friends & family. So on August 29, 2013 my blogging journey officially begun.
Roger & I’s first picture together in high school.
Even though I have been a vegetarian my entire life – as is my mother, my mother’s mother, & her mother – I have never been a health nut. And luckily neither is my husband who also has a long list of vegetarian ancestors. We try to eat as healthy as humanly possible even though we have uncontrollable sweet tooth’s. I sometimes joke that I married him so that I could get free dental care & still eat as many sweets as I wanted – although truth be told my relationship with Roger started in high school before I knew he was interested in dentistry.
Isn’t he the most adorable future dentist?
My love for DIYing & crafting didn’t really take off until Roger proposed in the fall of 2011. Then my mom & I went into full on crazy craft mode until we my wedding in June of 2012. After spending a year crafting on almost a daily basis for my wedding I felt like there was a big hole in my heart & a lot of empty space in our first apartment together. I knew if I wanted to start crafting again & make our apartment a home I would have to get creative since money is not something I like to spend frivolously – luckily for Roger. Sharing craft ideas & projects on Domestically Blissful has really helped me focus on creating inexpensive decor for every season.
DomesticallyBlissful.com is my baby and I hope you enjoy exploring and creating for yourself.
When trying DB’s Recipes you can be rest assured that what you are eating is a tried & true recipe in our home. Although if you see any recipes with mushrooms & onions you will know they were only consumed by me since my husband has still not picked up the taste for them.
In the DIY, Crafts, & Parties section you will find simple do it yourself projects & crafts that I have made for our own home or for special occasions. These projects contain step by step directions and pictures that range from easy projects that take only a few minutes to those that can take several hours.
Confessions reveals my inner most thoughts… and I have a lot of them. Beyond my family, food, and crafts I am an avid reader, movie watcher, and old school feminist (which can be surprising due to my choice in lifestyle).
Within Confessions I have a section called Family of Love where you will find my heart and soul because my family (my husband) means everything to me. Even though I believe my life to be domestically blissful the waters are not always smooth sailing and marriage is a full time job that takes work just like any other job. I have always known that I was meant to be a wife and a mother, and although we are only a family of two right now we are looking forward to expanding our family in the near future.
I just want to thank all of my readers who have allowed me to become apart of your lives! You have become my closest of friends & family & I look forward to getting to know you even more in the future! If this is your first time at Domestically Blissful I hope that you get a chance to browse through the world of Domestically Blissful and can find something worth your while.
