Ok, I admit, this little DIY was brought on by the green monster of jealousy. One morning after sending Roger off to school I was feeling kind of tired & extremely cold so I climbed back in bed & pulled out my phone to see what was new on Pinterest. I immediately came across an adorable little Christmas Card Display that used a frame, a staple gun, & chicken wire. So cute!
It was so cute that the little green monster of jealousy began to rise up inside me because I don’t have a staple gun or chicken wire. But then I remembered I have a glue gun, tons of twine & lace, & a large empty frame! I immediately jumped out of bed determined to make my own adorable little Christmas Card Display.
This Picture Frame Christmas Card Display took no time at all to create & now I’ll get to enjoy the beauty of it all season long! Now all I need are some Christmas Cards!
What You’ll Need:
Hot Glue Gun & Glue
Twine or Lace – or Both!
Mini Christmas Wreath – optional
First, measure your frame & decide how much space you want between each piece of twine. I decided to do about 2 inches between each piece of twine.
Then I measured out a bunch of pieces of twine, used a ruler to measure two inches from the top, added a glob of glue & attached a piece of twine. I continue to do this all down the right side of the frame, then I moved over to the left side & measured & attached the other ends of the twine to the frame.
Afterward I decided to add a little bit of lace to give it some more character. I just measured out the lace & glued it under four pieces of twine.
I had a little wreath that fit perfectly in the center of the frame, but I wanted to give it a special touch too. Plus since it’s only November & I haven’t received any Christmas Cards yet I decided I wanted to display some snowy pictures. So I headed off to get a few pictures developed from our recent Smoky Mountain excursion & to Hobby Lobby where I bought those two little berry branches for 50% off!
After adding the berries to the wreath I wanted to pull the whole look together so I created a little bow for the wreath from the same twine & lace used for the picture frame.
All that’s left is to wait for some beautiful Christmas cards to arrive in the mail!
