I know, I know. I shouldn’t be thinking about fall in May, but I can’t help it! A few weeks back I randomly came across a Starbucks S’mores Frappacino at a gas station & immediately fell in love. Now I can’t find them anywhere & I keep finding myself craving cold s’mores. So in order to curb my cravings I have created Frozen S’mores! So simple. Super quick. Yet so delicious!
(ps. After I wrote this my sweet hubby brought me home a S’mores Frappacino!!)
If you haven’t noticed I love recreating simple traditional recipes. I just can’t help myself! So fun! These Frozen S’mores will now join a few of my other favorite recipe makeovers – including my Fried Mozzarella Stack & Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup.
The first time I attempted this I realized that you can’t just throw it together as one might think. Turns out it’s important to take it one step at a time. Or it will end up looking like one of those Pinterest Fails where the creator didn’t follow instructions. So I decided to create some steps for myself (& you) in order to ensure it turned out looking pretty. Oh & if you want to know what the failure looks like I’ll be sharing a picture on Twitter later today.
These Frozen S’mores are a fun & unique dessert & would make for a fun dessert during a summer camping trip in the back yard or just a cold treat by the pool!
Melting Chocolate – My favorite is Ghirardelli Chocolate Dark Melting Wafers
Break a graham cracker in half (so it’s two square), & spread a thin layer of marshmallow fluff on each side & place them in your freezer on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Once frozen pull them out of your freezer, add your favorite special topping (like Hazelnut spread, peanut butter, or a raspberry), then top it with the other marshmallow graham cracker & put it back in your freezer.
Once frozen add marshmallow fluff to the inside edges of all of your Frozen S’mores & freeze again.
Finally, melt the chocolate & dip your Frozen S’mores in the chocolate & refreeze one last time. You’ll want to do this step quickly so that the marshmallow fluff doesn’t melt. I kept all of mine in the freezer & just pulled out one at a time for this step.
Enjoy your Frozen S’mores in the summer sun & don’t forget to snap a picture!
I’d love to see your Frozen S’mores! Instagram your Domestically Blissful inspired recipes & DIY projects with the hashtag #DomesticallyBlissful & you might find your picture featured on DB’s Instagram!
