A guest bathroom remodel on a budget with new tile, fresh paint, an updated vanity, & a framed mirror.
This guest bathroom remodel was a whirlwind of a project.
After talking to our realtor we decided to finish our house renovations in 2 & 1/2 weeks so that we could get it up on the market last fall.
I woke up at 6:15 am every morning, got Roger out the door, & then worked nonstop until 11-12:30 pm every night.
It was exhausting work, but I knew a finished house would be well worth it.
And since putting our house on the market we have been getting great feedback about all of the renovations & the view and I know that I just need to keep praying that God will send the right buyers.
Anyways, back to this guest bathroom renovation!
Because Roger was already swamped at work, & I could only do so much in 2 & 1/2 weeks, we decided to hire someone to replace the carpeted staircase to a wooden staircase that goes up to the second floor.
We also hired them to replace the tile & carpet (yes you read that right, carpet!) in the bathroom upstairs with new tile.
So while they worked on that I painted all the bedrooms & bathrooms upstairs. Updated the shower & vanity, & Roger installed a frame around the mirror.
We also added a new toilet & as mentioned above we replaced the old flooring in the bathrooms with new tile.
It was a whole lot of work!
And even though our house isn’t under contract yet, it was so nice to have the upstairs cleaned up & renovated for the holidays!
So now all that is left is to keep it clean!
Luckily, we don’t have any kids yet so it’s a lot easier than it would be if we had kids.
But because we are perfectionists we spend several hours before each showing cleaning our home.
We try to keep our house what I like to call “in-law ready” where it’s clean enough that any family member could walk in & they would think it is clean.
So why do we spend hours cleaning our house before every house showing?
Because we have spent so much time, energy, & money in this house & we want it to look perfect when someone walks into it for the first time.
I’ve spent so much time organizing, decluttering, & donating we are almost to the point that the house looks like no one lives in it & it’s just staged.
Anyways, if you are looking for tips on how to keep your house clean while it’s on the market (“in-law ready” clean) you can find it by clicking here.
P.S. These tips are also great for anyone who wants to keep their house clean on a daily/regular basis!
What do you think of the before & after?
I’d love to hear from you!
