A peak into our stay at the gorgeous Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort in Hawaii.
Maui, oh how I miss you.
Barely a day goes by that Roger & I don’t reminisce about the beauty of Hawaii & our wonderful stay at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort!
Since it was simply perfect I thought I would dedicate a whole post to our stay at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort in case you are planning a trip to Maui Hawaii. I highly recommend this resort & this is why…
Let me begin by saying that it wasn’t until we opened the blinds of our garden view room that I truly understood what a garden view room was meant to encapsulate.
“Garden view” did not do this room justice!
Every time we looked outside it was like we were gazing into a hidden piece of Maui jungle.
I especially loved this lounge chair that was lovingly tucked into the garden nook.
And if you peak out the window in this picture you will see that there was even a hammock you could relax in just steps from our room next to that relaxing lounge chair.
Our room came with two queen sized beds that were crazy comfortable. And as I mentioned in my Hawaii post, I peacefully fell asleep our first day way before the sun even set.
How is that possible? These windows had the most amazing blind system I had ever seen!
You could choose to lower a sheer screen for natural light & privacy or you could also lower the blackout screen for complete darkness to help with the jet lag & time difference.
I love that this wall was floor to ceiling window doors that easily slid open so you could enjoy the fresh tropical Hawaiian air.
Roger & I had a lot of fun playing my ukulele souvenir (mentioned/pictured here) out there in the cool breeze.
I could spend a whole post on this room, particularly the bathroom.
On the first day we realized we could open the blinds, but we were so tired we didn’t see those handles in the middle. The blinds are actually doors that slide open to reveal a floor to ceiling glass shower.
I couldn’t get a picture that did this shower justice. It has a rain shower from above along with one on a hose on the side. The shower area was the whole area that you see in the picture & where I am standing is the counter next to the sink. This meant that there was plenty of area to shower (even for 2 if you so pleased) as well as lots of places to hang wet swimsuits. There was even a modern wooden ladder on the left of the shower where you could hang & place items!
We loved the whole glass shower/rain shower head so much that it has inspired us to add these details to our bathroom renovation plans!
This is where I was standing in the last picture. Another amazing feature in this bathroom is that the mirror never steamed up! There was a square in the middle that was made to always stay steam free, which was great because I couldn’t help but take extra long showers!
And the complimentary bath products. I loved them so much! My hair hadn’t felt that soft & smooth in forever! I even felt like it made my hair thicker or fuller somehow. I’m now on the hunt for hair products that have aloe in it because I fell head over heals (pun intended) for their bath products!
Directly in front of the mirror was a private/closed off room with the toilet & next to it was a huge closet with lots of room to sit all of our luggage. And I brought a ton of luggage!
Oh I should also mention that there was a little mirror & round cushioned bench that you could sit & put your make up on right next to the bath products.
Speaking of complimentary items. The room was restocked each day with complimentary drinks & local snacks!
I have a special love for sparkling water & each day I’d find two new bottles in our mini fridge along with a few soda beverages that were locally Hawaiian made. There was also complimentary bags of Maui potato chips & granola bars locally made & restocked each day.
This was great because we often woke up early for morning walks on the beach & boardwalk & it was nice to have a mid-day snack whenever we got the munchies, which was often!
The architecture of the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort was gorgeous! The open pathway from the valet parking to the hotel lobby was gorgeous & the symmetry made my heart soar! The contemporary modern style combined with Hawaiian accents really was incredibly beautiful.
I loved all of the warm tones at night & the cool breeze that swept up off the sea and in through the open & airy lobby.
There were lots of chairs & couches that you could sit & relax on while waiting for the rest of your party to meet for a day excursion.
And in the center was this sandy area for kids to play in while parents checked in or drank their complimentary coffee that was served at the lobby desk each morning. They also provided us with fresh flower leis and lavender lemonade.
But seriously, that view! Major heart eyes!!
I loved to spend my morning sitting to the left of this in another one of their seating areas reading & waiting for Roger to join me for our morning walks.
Seriously the sunset views at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort were breathtaking!
One of our last evenings we took a sunset walk on the beach in front of the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort & of course I filled my camera up with pictures. You can see some of these here on my Hawaii post.
The Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort has 5 pools, although I must admit we never made it to the adults only pool. I was too much in love with the 3 infinity pools & the walk-in pool featured in the picture above.
My husband has a special love for infinity pools & hot tubs so this was like a dream come true for both of us wading in these pools at sunset.
Oh & random side note, the pool bathrooms were incredible!
I should just say it, I was WOWed by every detail of the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort.
Did I mention that they have complimentary sunscreen by the pool?
On the plane ride home Roger & I were looking up the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort & we discovered a huge list of complimentary items that were available that we didn’t even know about! I’m not sure how that is possible since I love to research, but somehow we missed this.
That just means we will have to go back & discover more of what Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort has to offer!
And you know what I just realized? I haven’t even mentioned breakfast!
The buffet breakfast at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort was… well words can’t really convey the amazingness. Seriously, for sure the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Probably the best breakfast I have ever had in my life!
The tables of fruit, pastries, homemade Hawaiian waffles (yes they are different than normal waffles & crazy good!) & pancakes made right in front of you, things I had never even heard of before, tropical fruit juice bar, homemade fruit tea, fresh cheeses, asian noodle dishes, fresh made cobblers, an omelet bar, I mean the list goes on & on, as did the buffet!
I mean you know the food is ridiculously good when you look over to the table next to yours and Guy Fieri from the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives is enjoying breakfast there with his family too. (True Story). Btw, I couldn’t resist going up to him and getting a quick picture, yeah I know, cheesy, but it was worth it. And you know I’m a pretty cheesy person!
I could write a whole post just about breakfast at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort!
This is at the second or third infinity pool & behind the chairs is the top & side of another infinity pool.
Yeah, these tiered infinity pools were pretty incredible.
You can easily see that they put a lot of time & effort into creating an environment that was pleasing to the eyes, created the most luxurious space, & yet still maintained the focus of the resort on the natural beauty of Hawaii.
I wish I could blink my eyes & be back in this perfect spot right now.
Roger & I spent several evenings watching the last rays of sun set over the ocean while cozying up in front of this warm fire. Plus it had a gorgeous view of the sandy beach & ocean.
And see those railings? They are definitely going to be an inspirational piece for our first house!
At the beach you could find complimentary chairs & umbrellas for guests of the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, which we used a few times, but my favorite spot to read & watch Roger snorkel was just above the sandy beach on the grassy lawn overlooking the beach.
There was also incredible snorkeling at a reef right on the beach below. Roger and I, could actually hear humpback whales while snorkeling with the beautiful fish and turtles. The underwater beauty really matched the beauty of this amazing island and incredible resort!
So I thought the best way to end is with a photo of one of my favorite places to relax & enjoy the view at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort. I loved to sit in those first chairs under the breezy shade of the palm trees & soak in that gorgeous view. I even spent one morning watching a full rainbow form (see here, here, & here) from the mountain to the ocean.
I’d love to hear from you!
