3 reasons you need travel insurance when traveling internationally.
Roger and I try to travel internationally at least twice a year.
Some of our adventures over the years have included Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Ireland, Mexico, and Egypt.
And the more we travel this big blue world the more we have learned not only about individual cities and countries, but we’ve also learned through research and personal experiences what every traveler needs to know.
Our most recent adventure was to Egypt, and as this was our first time traveling to Africa or a Middle Eastern country, I wanted to make sure we were fully prepared for anything that we could encounter.
For some reason, even with all of the traveling we have done in the past, this was our first time acquiring travel medical insurance.
And let me tell you, I was able to sleep better before and during our trip knowing that our physical health was in good care.
Having Visitors Medical Insurance (which is a short-term temporary travel medical insurance policy) that provides health, injury and travel emergency coverage while traveling (or during a stay abroad), gives you a peace of mind like nothing else.
We are currently preparing for our next trip to Paris and Switzerland, and I already have our VisitorsCoverage travel insurance all set up.
If you are here, my guess is that you are thinking about getting travel insurance for your next adventure too.
So I hope my favorite 3 reasons for having travel insurance while abroad will help you with your planning.
1. Peace of Mind for You & Family
Even though we have a few last details to finalize on our itinerary, I already have peace of mind knowing that we will be traveling with one of the VisitorsCoverage medical insurance travel plans.
But it’s not just us that will have peace of mind.
I know our family and loved ones back home like knowing that we are covered and cared for every time we leave on a new adventure.
2. Worry Less & Adventure More
One of the great things about travel insurance is that it helps you explore the world confidently and worry-free.
You can wander more, worry less.
I can be a pretty cautious person, but knowing I’m covered medically allows me to be more open to new experiences, like a hot air balloon ride in Luxor, Egypt (the most amazing experience of my life), and zip lining in Switzerland (fingers crossed I don’t chicken out).
Knowing what it feels like to have traveled without and with medical insurance, I now know that I prefer to travel with insurance as it allows me to relax, be less stressed, more adventurous, and enjoy our vacation to the utmost.
3. Be Prepared for the Unexpected
No matter how much I love to plan our vacations and create itineraries for each day of our trip, life is unpredictable.
And sometimes life happens in unexpected ways that do not fit into any itinerary.
Which also means traveling without a good Visitors Medical Insurance plan can be risky as a sudden medical emergency would not only be a costly affair but can also be physically and emotionally challenging.
VisitorsCoverage simplifies travel insurance so you can focus more on enjoying your travels and worry less about the unexpected.
And being prepared for the unexpected is just one more way travel insurance helps me feel stress-free while traveling the world!
Now that I know I’m covered by VisitorsCoverage I can finalize the last little details of our exciting adventure.
I hope this post helps you as you plan your next big trip.
