5 easy tips for decorating a New Years Eve party that all of your guests will love & remember!
I’ve been dreaming about creating this New Years decor post for some time now.
While there are a plethora of decor ideas for the last two holidays we just finished there just isn’t as much for New Years. So I was determined to create a fun & easy party decor tutorial for New Years that you could easily create for your upcoming celebration!
I decided to stick with the traditional gold, white, silver, & black color scheme & I am ecstatic with how it turned out! Sometimes you plan something out in your head & it just doesn’t turn out the way you want. But I must admit, this turned out even better than I had hoped.
And it was so easy too!
I was able to make it extra pretty with the help of Duck Mirror® & Duck Texture®. So now my New Years party decor pops with shine & texture!
I love the unique mirror effect that Duck Mirror® has created. It adds a beautiful shine & dimension to the party decor. And guess what? Their new innovation works great with electronic cutting machines so you can create your own designs, shapes & letters.
I also added Duck Texture® to my New Years party decor. This special tape features trendy colors & patterns so that you can add a textured surface to any craft or DIY project that you can actually touch & feel. I love that it’s durable & easy-to-apply. Plus the mini roll lets you take your style & personality with you wherever you go – no scissors required!
I hope you enjoy my 5 easy tips for decorating a New Years Party & that you have a wonderful beginning of your new year!
1. Create a Backdrop
There are all sorts of backdrops you can create for a New Years celebration & since it’s a party I highly recommend creating an interactive backdrop.
One idea is to create a solid colored backdrop where people can take pictures & selfies with their party hats. Another option is to create a New Years resolutions backdrop where people can write their resolutions throughout the night.
I created my resolutions backdrop from a black poster board & I added a border with silver Duck Mirror® & gold Duck Texture® on top.
I then printed out the directions for guests & placed it in a simple black frame. But then I decided it needed a special touch, so I grabbed the Duck Texture® & added a border on the paper before placing it back inside the frame. Super easy!
2. Balloons
This is a great way to add more dimension & height to your New Years party decor.
I opted for white balloons with a black ribbon that I grabbed while grocery shopping. But you could do a mixture of gold & black or even clear balloons with gold sparkles inside!
3. Party Hats
I picked up some gold sparkly party hats at a craft store.
Not only can people wear them, but they are a great way to add extra decor to your New Years table.
4. Food & Drinks
This is the last big holiday of the year after a marathon of holidays. Give yourself a break if need be, buy premade snacks & treats. Or, better yet, have everyone bring food. They could bring their favorite late night snack or make it an extra sweet night & have everyone bring desserts!
I added some Duck Texture® to the glass jar that holds the silverware to make it match the rest of the party decor on the table.
5. Garland & Candles
Garland & candles are another great way to add color to your New Years Eve party decor.
And I’ll share a little secret. I grabbed an extra garland from the dollar store & cut off little pieces of them, hot glued them to toothpicks, & stuck them in the cupcakes.
I hope you have a wonderful New Years Eve party!
