5 reasons to purchase Dollywood season passes so that you can enjoy the fun all year long!
A few weekends ago, Roger & I spent the weekend up in Gatlinburg with Roger’s extended family enjoying the fall weather & making so many new & wonderful memories.
While there we decided it was time to get season passes to Dollywood®.
What’s great is that these season passes are good not just for the end of this year, but they are good all through 2019 too!
Which is awesome because Dollywood is opening Wildwood Grove in 2019! This new expansion has 11 new experiences from new rides, to a new restaurant, & so much more.
My fingers are crossed that the new restaurant, Till & Harvest, will have a wider array of options, specifically for vegetarians like me & the rest of our family.
So I decided to share my excitement about the new expansion coming to Dollywood by sharing 5 Reasons to Purchase Dollywood Season Passes so that you can start enjoying the fun right now!
1. The Cost
Ticket prices for theme parks around the country are rising, but what’s great about Dollywood season passes is that even if you only have time to visit Dollywood twice in one year it is still cheaper to purchase season passes than it is to purchase two 1-Day tickets on any given day of the year.
Currently, the cost of a 1-Day ticket is $69.95, while the cost of a regular season pass is $114.
While I opted for the (season’s pass) Regular Pass, we chose to get Roger the (season’s pass) Gold Pass as it allows you to “Enjoy a full season with added perks like free parking, discounts on food, merchandise and more!”
Since parking is currently $15 for standard length vehicles, having one person in your family (preferably the normal driver) opt for the Gold Pass is a great way to save money in the long run!
2. Family Friendly
I absolutely love how family friendly this park is all year round.
Not only is it a great place to bring kids of all ages, but their shows are full of clean humor & moments of praising God through acting & song.
During our last visit, we went to “Christmas in the Smokies” with our family (19 of us visited on this trip) & it was wonderful to hear both traditional, contemporary, & religious Christmas music all in one show.
3. The Cinnamon Bread
If you’ve ever visited Dollywood you know that the hot fresh cinnamon bread is a must while visiting the theme park.
The cinnamon bread is especially good with a dollop of frosting & apple butter!
What’s great is that you can enjoy one with your family at the park as well as take one to-go in their take-home containers to enjoy the next day for breakfast or dessert!
4. Fun Rides, Shows, & Activities
Whether you are a thrill seeker or prefer a good musical show there is something for everyone at Dollywood.
I’m not much of a thrill seeker, so my favorite ride is the FireChaser Express® but Roger loves the Wild Eagle.
I will admit that I have ridden on Lighting Rod®, but I have zero plans of ever doing that again.
It was pretty intense for me!
Another fun activity for the whole family is the Dollywood Express which is a 20-minute excursion through the mountains in a real steam train.
I especially love riding this coal-fired steam engine in the fall with all of the beautiful & colorful leaves!
5. Seasonal Experiences
I love how things change from season-to-season at Dollywood.
From Dollywood’s Summer Celebration with Fireworks, to Harvest Festival, to a Smoky Mountain Christmas, you are sure to enjoy each season to it’s fullest.
And while I absolutely love the fall season, Smoky Mountain Christmas is my favorite at Dollywood, especially at night with the millions of Christmas lights wrapping around the trees and covering all the buildings.
The twinkle lights adorn everything from the buildings to small Christmas trees to the tallest live trees throughout the park.
It’s absolutely magical!!
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about Dollywood & all of the family fun to be had with season passes.
