A simple summer wedding shower that I was honored to host for my sister.

Last weekend I had the honor of hosting a simple summer wedding shower for my sister!
I had been planning her shower for months and couldn’t wait to celebrate her upcoming wedding and marriage.
She has always loved the color purple and lavender everything, so I did my best to incorporate both throughout her wedding shower in simple subtle ways.
From fresh dried lavender stems at the entrance to purple flowers throughout the decor to lemon lavender poppy seed cookies.

For the printable decor, I used a mixture of free printables that I had created previously for Valentine’s Day decor along with some that I created using this free watercolor flower art set (which I also used to create printables for my sister’s baby shower last summer).
And I pretty much used every summer floral I had available to create the different bouquets and the backdrop.
Oh, and I plan to share a full tutorial of how I created the wedding shower backdrop with all of the faux florals in the next week or two.
So be on the lookout for that!
Since I knew I was just going to get bigger and slower as my pregnancy progressed I made sure to plan well ahead for my sister’s shower.
I created the floral wedding shower backdrop almost a month before her wedding and I delegated the brunch food as much as possible to anyone who offered.
For her guest book, I thought it would be fun to create a little scrapbook in which guests could share their advice and well wishes for the bride and groom.
And as a parting gift, there were Lavender Soap Favors for guests to take with them to remember her wedding shower in the days and weeks to come.
