Today is the first day of spring & I can’t help but note that it is way easier to make positive life changes when all of nature is beginning again, rather than in the dead of winter on the first day of January. Over spring break Roger & I had some serious conversations about our current lifestyle, we have had talks like these in the past, but none that have really kickstarted a healthier more beneficial lifestyle – yes even vegetarians don’t always eat right!
Even though spring break only ended last Sunday we have been making a conscious effort of making better choices in our life & I can’t help but wonder if we have been subconsciously encouraged by the new life that is being breathed into nature all around us.
I feel more alive now as I am seeing what was once brown & dead blooming & alive. I am bursting with new life & I admit that I never love the color green more than I do in the spring!
If you have begun to let your new years resolutions slip by one by one – or it’s been so long you can’t even remember what your resolutions were – I encourage you to start fresh today with me & to join all of the blooming flowers in their fresh beginnings!
Oh & happy first day of spring!
Look around you: Winter is over;
the winter rains are over, gone!
Spring flowers are in blossom all over.
The whole world’s a choir—and singing!
Spring warblers are filling the forest
with sweet arpeggios.
Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed,
and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms.
Song of Solomon 2:11-13 (The Message)
