I’m not even kidding when I say that this Cream Cheese Swirl Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread is a chocolate lover’s dream come true!
My sister-in-law, Kelly, LOVES chocolate & I found out a few weeks ago that her oldest daughter is totally her mini-me!
If you recall, when I originally was developing this Double Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread, Kelly called it “a chocolate lover’s dream come true.”
So when I brought this Cream Cheese Swirl Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread to a family event (my oldest nephew’s baptism) I expected her to be the one that loved it the most.
However, her daughter definitely LOVED it the most!
Someone told me later that she had 4 or 5 pieces (granted they were thick pieces cut in half lengthwise) for dessert!
This Cream Cheese Swirl Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread is definitely a winner in both my book & hers.
And my guess is that is about to become your favorite too!

Cream Cheese Swirl Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread

This Cream Cheese Swirl Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread is a rich & decadent dessert that chocolate lovers will crave!

Ingredients
Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread
- 3 Eggs
- 2 Cups White Granulated Sugar
- 3 Teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 Cup Sour Cream
- 2 (packed) Cups Grated Zucchini – Approximately 2 zucchini *(1)
- 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Instant Coffee
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 3 Teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1 & 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
Sweet Cream Cheese Ingredients
- 16 Ounces Cream Cheese, room temperature
- 6 Tablespoons White Granulated Sugar
- 4 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 2 Large Eggs
Instructions
- First, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit & spray 2 bread pans with oil.
- In a medium bowl use a hand mixer to mix 16 ounces cream cheese, 6 tablespoons sugar, 4 teaspoons vanilla extract & 2 eggs. Mix until combined & then set the bowl to the side.
- Mix the 3 eggs, 2 cups of sugar, 3 teaspoons vanilla, & 1 cup of sour cream in a large bowl.
- Then add the 2 cups of grated zucchini, 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons instant coffee, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 teaspoons cinnamon, & 1 & 1/2 teaspoons baking soda. Mix until combined.
- Pour 1/2 of your dark chocolate zucchini bread batter into 2 bread pans.
- Divide the cream cheese mixture between both loaves & top with the remaining dark chocolate zucchini bread batter.
- Bake your Cream Cheese Swirl Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool on a cooling rack & enjoy. *(2-3)
Notes
- If your zucchini is extra wet while packing/measuring you can squeeze out some of the liquid or pat it down with a towel to soak up some of the extra zucchini liquid.
- Keep stored in a sealed container in your fridge for up to a week.
- I drizzled 1/2 cup melted dark chocolate wafers on top to make it extra pretty for the pictures, but you definitely do not need to do this to enjoy your Cream Cheese Swirl Dark Chocolate Zucchini Bread.
