But what’s just as exciting is that this recipe can be made in only 15 minutes!
Yes, you read the right!
A crazy-easy, super delicious, and effortlessly beautiful summer recipe that you can have on the dinner table in 15 minutes!
And this dish isn’t lacking in flavor.
From the sweet basil to the bright burst of lemon to the creamy sauce, your family will love this summer filled orzo pasta!

This Creamy Lemon Asparagus Orzo is filled with fresh summer flavor and takes only 15 minutes to make!

Ingredients
- 1 Cup Orzo, uncooked
- 1 & 1/2 Cup Asparagus
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- ½ Cup Parmesan, shredded
- 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
- 1/4 Teaspoon Dried Basil
- 1/4 Teaspoon Dried Parsley
- 1 Pinch Salt
- 1 Pinch Black Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- Fresh Basil, optional topping
- Parmesan, optional topping
Instructions
- First, cook the orzo according to their packaging instructions.
- Next, remove/snap off the ends of the asparagus and cut the remaining asparagus into 1-inch pieces.
- Add the 1 & 1/2 cups of asparagus to the orzo after it has been cooking for 5 minutes.
- After 5 additional minutes, or once the orzo is tender, drain and return the orzo and asparagus to the pan and stove.
- Turn the heat to low and stir in the 1 tablespoon butter, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/4 teaspoon dried basil, 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley, 1 pinch salt, and 1 pinch black pepper.
- Finally, turn off the heat and stir in the 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.
- Serve topped with fresh basil and shredded parmesan.
