This Creamy Lemon Asparagus Orzo is filled with fresh summer flavor and takes only 15 minutes to make!



  • 1 Cup Orzo, uncooked
  • 1 & 1/2 Cup Asparagus
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • ½ Cup Parmesan, shredded
  • 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Dried Parsley
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1 Pinch Black Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • Fresh Basil, optional topping
  • Parmesan, optional topping


  1. First, cook the orzo according to their packaging instructions.
  2. Next, remove/snap off the ends of the asparagus and cut the remaining asparagus into 1-inch pieces.
  3. Add the 1 & 1/2 cups of asparagus to the orzo after it has been cooking for 5 minutes.
  4. After 5 additional minutes, or once the orzo is tender, drain and return the orzo and asparagus to the pan and stove.
  5. Turn the heat to low and stir in the 1 tablespoon butter, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/4 teaspoon dried basil, 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley, 1 pinch salt, and 1 pinch black pepper.
  6. Finally, turn off the heat and stir in the 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.
  7. Serve topped with fresh basil and shredded parmesan.
