1. Start a Blog
I am a firm believer in supporting bloggers!
I know some people prefer to keep other bloggers at a distance & view them as competition, but I believe in the community & that there is always room for more in the blogging community. Blogging as a side hustle or as a full-time job (like I do) is hard work, but it can be very rewarding & can take you around the world, quite literally!
I have a whole post to help you step by step create a self-hosted WordPress blog so that you can earn a side hustle, or even a living, through blogging!
2. Shop through Ebates
Ebates is one of my favorite ways to earn cash back while shopping online!
It can be hard to remember at first, but once you get the hang of clicking through Ebates before you shop online you will be able to start earning money by doing what you already do!
And you can earn $10 right now just by signing up for Ebates.
3. Bake & Sell on Social Media
I know people who have started their own bakery & cookie companies simply by sharing their creations on Facebook & Instagram & letting people know that they are going to start selling their baked goods.
I’ve seen some who only sell their baked goods during the holidays while others have created Facebook & Instagram business pages for their new small business.
4. Search Online with Swagbucks
Did you know that you can make money just by surfing the web?
Yes! All you have to do is switch your default search engine to Swagbucks & you can start earning cash right now.
5. Become a Virtual Assistant
Becoming a virtual assistant is a great way to get your foot in the door of the world of blogging.
If you are interested in blogging, interested in seeing if blogging is for you, or prefer to do behind the scenes work for already established blogs, then becoming a virtual assistant is the perfect sides hustle or secondary job for you!
Virtual assistants do all sorts of work from website design to proofreading, to editing videos, but that’s not all! There are actually over 150 services that you could provide as a virtual assistant.

6. Sell Your Items on Craigslist
A great way to earn some extra cash is to go through your house, closet, attic, & garage & make a pile of anything & everything you haven’t used or worn in a year.
Snap some pictures of each item, look up some comparative prices online, & then list your items on Craigslist.
Just be sure to meet in a very public & safe spot when buying & selling on Craigslist.
7. Use Ibotta while Grocery Shopping
Basically, you use Ibotta to find offers, then you go shopping, & then you redeem your offers by taking a picture of your receipt, & you get cash back in 48 hours!
You can click here to get your $10 bonus & use my referral code to start getting cash back: xhegong
8. Sell on Amazon
Can you believe that there are people who make money on their date night because of Amazon?
I had a guest writer share how her & her husband turn date night into thousands of dollars in profit through Amazon FBA. Click here to read it!
9. Create a Small Business on Etsy
I know so many people who do this to share their creative skills while making extra cash.
There are even people who have turned their Etsy side hustle into a full-time business that has allowed them to quit their day job & work from home!
10. Turn Your Home into an AirB&B
If you have a second home, extra room, or mother-in-law suite you can rent it out on AirB&B to make some extra cash.
You can learn more about AirB&B & how to turn your extra space into money for travel by clicking here.
We haven’t stayed in an AirB&B yet, but I am currently making a list of Chattanooga AirB&B dream staycations. And if you are wanting to try out an AirB&B before you rent your own, here is $40 towards your first trip!
11. Flip Items on eBay
My husband is great at eBay!
Buying products low & then selling them for more on eBay is a great way to make money on the side.
And if you love shopping than shopping & reselling on eBay may be just the right side hustle for you!
I know a lot of people who shop at yard sales, flea markets, even the sale section of high-end stores like Anthropologie, & then resell their finds on eBay.
Babysitting is a great way to make some extra cash on the weeknights & weekends.
13. Take Surveys Online through Inbox Dollars
There are a lot of survey websites out there so it can be hard to find just the right one, but the nice thing about Inbox Dollars is that they start you off on the right foot by giving you $5 just for signing up!
14. Open a New Credit Card Line
Earning rewards & cash is as easy as getting a new credit card!
Last year Roger opened up a new credit card & we used the sign-up bonus to stay at a 5-star all inclusive resort in Cancun!
15. Open a Bank Account
I personally haven’t done this as I don’t need a new bank account, but I’ve heard of banks offering up to $300 for opening a new account with them.
16. Sell Your Photos through Zazzle
If you love to take pictures & are interested in selling them without having to physically create a product then Zazzle is the perfect option for you!
Through Zazzle, you can upload your travel photos to be turned into postcards, mugs, t-shirts, phone cases, bumper stickers, & so much more!
Years ago I set up a Zazzle shop/account, made a few products with my photos, & then promptly forgot about it. I went back into my account recently & discovered that I had made some money. I’m thinking I may need to go back in there & create a new shop from our Ireland adventures!
17. Teach a Class or Skill
If you have any type of talent, skill, or passion you should definitely turn it into a way to make money on the side.
You could teach children how to play guitar, tutor students in geometry, or even teach a cooking class in your home!
18. Test Websites with UserTesting
If you have any spare time during your day & enjoy critiquing websites & blogs than you will love UserTesting.
It’s pretty simple to make money too.
Once you have an account with UserTesting you will visit a website or app, complete a set of tasks while speaking your thoughts out loud, & you will earn $10 per test you complete.
How easy is that?
19. Rent Your Wedding Decor
I have a friend whose mother decided to take everything they bought for her daughter’s wedding & use it to create their own event rental boutique.
What a great way to keep everything from your wedding & make back all of the money (& then some) by renting it out for others to use for their dream day!

24. Pet Sit or Become a Pet Walker
If you live in a large neighborhood, or even a small city, becoming a pet sitter or pet walker may be a nice way to get some exercise, get to know your neighborhood, & get some extra snuggles in with the cute puppy next door.

If you don’t feel comfortable driving strangers around, UberEats may be a better fit for you & your car. Although the yummy smells may make you hungry!
26. Enter Contests & Giveaways
You aren’t guaranteed money for entering contests & giveaways, but there is always a (small) chance you may win!
A good way to increase your odds is to follow small bloggers who like to share giveaways.

The summer Roger & I were married 42 (with Chadwick Boseman & Harrison Ford) was filming in Chattanooga & Roger spent a day being an extra, you can only see him a few times (for a split second each time) in the film, but about a month later he got a check in the mail!
41. Clean Windows

There is some training involved here, but this is a great second job for the evenings & weekends!
