Your Potential
As I opened my Bible to Isaiah 42 for devotions this morning, the title of the section “The Lord’s Chosen Servant” plunged deep into my soul as I realized that I am the Lord’s chosen servant.
My mind began to wander as I questioned my potential as the Lord’s servant.
What is His plan for my life?
No, not some future plan in my life years from now.
Rather, what is the plan for my life in the here, the now?
What does He wish for me to do this week, today, in this very minute of living & breathing?
How am I living up to the potential that God has given me in the present?
Something Roger said last weekend came back to my mind, about my opportunity to reach & connect with people through my blog.
God has blessed me with the opportunity to share His love through my website & I have been slacking.
Yes, I add Bible verses to the ends of my blog posts & Instagram pictures, but that takes little effort & barely any brain power.
Today I realized I have been slacking on my potential to share God’s love through my blog.
So I have decided to make a change.
I am going to start writing & sharing daily devotions.
These will be short musings with a read of 1-5 minutes & a varying structure as God inspires me to share a verse or thought He places on my heart.
I know this is just a drop in the bucket of what God has planned for me, but I’m taking it one step at a time with the guidelines of His Word, grace, & love.
I want to encourage you to take a moment’s pause to look deeply into your own life.
Your life in the here & now.
Open your eyes wide & see the potential God is calling you to fulfill in your job, at home, with your friends, & in your spiritual life.
Don’t be afraid to take that next step in your life, God will show you His will in your life.
And if God’s potential for you means taking a leap of faith, don’t be afraid to jump because
“…those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
