I am in love with my Sparkling Silver Branches. True love! Over the last few weeks I have spent a lot of time gazing at these beauties. A few months ago I came across some beautiful sparkling silver branches at World Market but I knew they were out of my price range for how many I wanted. Yes I am greedy for sparkles. So I decided to make my own!
Now some might say it would easier to buy 4-5 bundles of sparkling branches, but who would give up the chance to play with jumbo glitter? I know I definitely wouldn’t!
Unfortunately, these pictures don’t even begin to display the beauty or sparkle that shines from these DIY Sparkling Silver Branches. I tried to take pictures in a variety of light in order to fully capture how beautiful they are, but this is the best I could do. But believe me when I say that these Sparkling Silver Branches make a gorgeous christmas bouquet!
What you’ll need:
Silver Spray Paint
Clear Elmer’s Glue
First, choose your branches & spray paint them the color of your choice. I decided to use Krylon ColorMaster Silver Metallic for my Sparkling Silver Branches. I set my branches in an old used (but clean) glass tomato sauce jar & spray painted them outside. I had to walk around the branches several times to make sure I had spray painted all sides of the branches.
Once the branches are dry lay one branch on a large baking sheet. This will make for easy clean up later.
Lightly drizzle the clear glue on the branch & sprinkle the jumbo glitter on top. Make sure not to apply the glue too heavily or it will drip onto the cookie sheet & the excess glitter.
Repeat this process on all sides of each branch until all of your branches are silver & sparkling.
I wanted to make sure that my Sparkling Silver Branches were given the best chance to shine, so I filled a vase with twinkle lights, & then placed the branches in the vase.
