My husband and I have been talking about these Fall Rice Krispies Treats for a while now and I have no idea why it has taken us so long to getting around to making them! They seriously do not take long to make and you could have them done and be enjoying them in less than 15 minutes!
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
4 cups of marshmallows – mini or regular size
2 heaping teaspoons of peanut butter – or more if you are obsessed with peanut butter
½ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup butterscotch chips
First, turn on the oven to warm or about 200°. Melt the 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat on the stove in a large pot, then add the 4 cups of marshmallows to the butter and stir it in.
Continue to stir the marshmallows until they have melted in – be careful not to burn them – then add the 2 heaping teaspoons of peanut butter.
Next, fold in 6 cups of rice krispies.
Once they are well blended, place them in a pan and use your hands to flatten it into place.
Spread the ½ cup of chocolate chips and ¼ cup of butterscotch evenly on top of the rice krisipies.
Turn off the oven then place the Fall Rice Krispies into the heated oven for 1-2 minutes.
When the chocolate and butterscotch chips look like they are beginning to melt – they start looking glossy, remove the rice krispies from the oven and use a butter knife to spread the chocolate and butterscotch.
You could then have some fun and cut your Fall Rice Krispies Treats into different fall shapes, life pumpkins, fall leaves, or you could just straight to Christmas and make a Christmas Tree! I used Wilton 101 Cookie Cutter Set (affiliate link) to cut out this football and I added the lace by melting down some extra butterscotch.
I’d love to see your Fall Rice Krispies Treats! Show off your yummy fall treats on Instagram with the hashtag #DomesticallyBlissful and you might find your picture featured on DB’s Instagram!

I think it was an 11 X 7 inch pan, but you could use whatever size pan you wanted depending on how thick or thin you like your Rice Krispies! Enjoy! 🙂
