Is it just me or does this year seem to be flying by?! I mean it is already June & I can’t help but have Fall & Christmas on my mind, although I do think that is Hobby Lobby’s fault…
Oh & if you didn’t win or get a chance to enter this giveaway I will be starting another giveaway this coming Sunday. So stay tuned!
Top 5 posts from May:
Sadly I only posted 13 times in May, but as most of you know I had a good reason since I spent most of the month working & preparing for my new sister’s wedding. I still can’t believe they are already married!
Anywho! Now onto this month’s May Traffic and Income Report!
Although I didn’t post as much as I did in April my page views are beginning to go back up after the initial (but expected) decline during which I focused on growing my facebook followers rather than submitting my posts to a large variety of sources.
My biggest concern however is the next 2 months. Since Roger is still in school, & we have not officially settled down in one location, summer can be a bit topsy turvy & unpredictable. One moment we will be at home having a Star Wars movie marathon, the next we will be in the Florida Keys or Ohio. All this coming & going is not always easy for a lifestyle blogger who is more comfortable sharing DIY/crafts & food & not so much writing about her own personal life. – um… since when did I start writing in third person? –
Anywho, I am trying to get ahead of schedule by completing a bunch of projects now so the next 2 months are filled with fun new posts. At the same time I am trying to do better at putting my laptop down & spending time with family & friends (balance is important & not my strong suit). So unless I can get a bunch done in the next week, & while traveling, there might be a direct correlation of decreased views in next month’s blog report. Plus summer months are already rough on blogging numbers since more people are out & about rather than on their computers. Which is totally a good thing, but as a blogger it’s still sad.
I do however hope that since my social media followers are starting to slowly increase that the fun posts I do have planned for this summer won’t go unnoticed.
May Social Media Approximate Numbers:
After reading a comment on Facebook in the Peony Project community of a blogger’s befuddlement on their decrease of followers on Instagram I decided to do a little research of my own account. Turns out that I lost around 75 Instagram followers over the last month, but as you can see my numbers are up by 10. So somehow over the last month I managed to lose a ton of Instagram followers & then regain new ones. I’m not 100% sure how, I very infrequently pursue growth on Instagram these days, but I’m definitely not complaining!
Gourmet Ads: $44.92
Amazon Affiliate Program: $6.33
Products Reviewed: $142.94
- eShakti Dress: $64.95
- Influenster Blossom VoxBox: $28.00 (This one was an approximation because it was hard to calculate especially since some of the products were samples)
- Trilane Retinol+Vitamin C Review: $49.99
Total: $195.22 (without products: $52.28)
Wow! My views were up but my income went down dramatically.
As you can see I decided to add a new mini section to the list as I have recently started receiving products to review. Since all of these products have value I felt that they needed to be acknowledged & included in these monthly reports. However, since some people might not agree I added up this month’s total income with & without the products.
Another change that I made last month, which can’t be detected yet, is that I increased the viewabilty rate for my Gourmet Ads. My viewabilty for Gourmet Ads has always been around 25% – which is really, really, REALLY bad. So I spent some time emailing back & forth with them, making as many adjustments as possible & hopefully now my viewability will increase dramatically, although they did say it could take up to a month. So hopefully by the end of July I’ll have increased numbers from them, which will significantly increase my income. Fingers crossed!
Have any suggestions? I’d love to hear your advice! Got questions? I’d love to answer them or maybe even turn a specific question you have into a blog post!
Until next time!
With love, G
