A mini-tour of our side entryway sharing all of the decor details in our mudroom reveal.
At the beginning of the year, my plan was to decorate our bedroom in July and share the reveal in August.
When I shared our Summer Patio Reveal in May, I mentioned that “most of my energy and money has been spent building 2 large built-ins on either side of our living room fireplace.”
But what I didn’t mention was that we were also preparing for foster care.
So I decided to switch it up and finish decorating a space that is about to see a lot of foot traffic from little feet.
Our entryway can become a dumping ground as we busily come and go, so I knew I needed to get it organized quickly.
Because once we have kids, there is going to be a whole lot of activity in our home with lots of little shoes, backpacks, and paperwork.
So I made this area the next priority.
Well, this and working on decorating the upstairs bedrooms, but that’s a blog post for another time.
Before I get off track and start sharing all of the details of what we’ve been working on upstairs, let me show you around our little entryway mudroom.
When we moved in late last spring we ordered a bench and a mirror, but that was pretty much it when it came to decorating this space.
After a few months, I added a couple of pillows and a jar of faux flowers, but overall this entryway was pretty sparse (click here to see what it looked like at the beginning of the year).
And since there was no organizational system set up it became a dumping area of jackets, shoes, purses, etc.
Luckily it was only the two of us, or else I’m sure this space would have been chaotic.
But after a month of searching for just the right pieces, this little mudroom off of our carport is ready for the big changes that are coming our way soon.
So now I can focus on preparing the rooms upstairs for the unknown future that we’ve been praying about for months!
I hope enjoyed this little tour of our mudroom!
