This Nutella Cream Cheese Swirl Banana Bread is sweet, moist, and has all the decadent flavors of a breakfast dessert.

I will forever be making new renditions of banana bread.
I love it so much and there are so many different ways to fill it and top it for different seasons and occasions.
Over the year’s I’ve shared recipes for Chocolate Chip Cherry Banana Bread, Cream Cheese Strawberry Banana Bread, Apple Cinnamon Banana Bread, Banana Nut Bread, and of course a basic Banana Bread recipe.
Although I currently don’t have any new banana bread recipes planned, I’m sure there will be at least one new banana bread recipe sometime later this year!
But currently, this Nutella Cream Cheese Swirl Banana Bread is my favorite.
Call me a child whose favorite food is whatever they just ate, but this one really is that good!
What’s not to love about a swirl of sweet cream cheese and Nutella on a soft (dare I say moist) loaf of banana bread!?
Plus, since it already has Nutella on it, I feel like it gives you an extra excuse to slather a little bit more on each slice.
I won’t tell if you won’t! 😉

Nutella Cream Cheese Swirl Banana Bread
This Nutella Cream Cheese Swirl Banana Bread is sweet, moist, and has all the decadent flavors of a breakfast dessert.
Ingredients
- 4 Large Over Ripened Bananas*(1)
- 2 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 Cup White Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Butter Room Temperature
- 2 Large Egg
- 4 Heaping Tablespoons Sour Cream
- 1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
Sweet Cream Cheese Ingredients
- 8 Ounces Cream Cheese, room temperature
- 3 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
- 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 Large Egg
Nutella
- 2/3 Cup Nutella
Instructions
- First, spray the bread pans with oil and preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mash the bananas on a plate, remove any bad spots and set them to the side.
- Sift all of the dry ingredients, except the sugar, in a bowl and set to the side.
- In a separate bowl blend 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter into a cream. Then add one egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in 4 heaping tablespoons sour cream and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
- Mix the mashed bananas into the wet ingredients until combined.
- Slowly stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, just until combined, and do not over mix.
- Pour your banana bread batter into 2 bread pans.
- In a medium bowl blend 8 ounces cream cheese, 3 tablespoons sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 1 egg. Blend until combined.
- Places small dollops of the cream cheese mixture and the 2/3 cup Nutella (divided) onto the top of both loaves of banana bread. Swirl with a toothpick.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes. Once golden brown cover with foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Enjoy!
Notes
- If you use defrosted frozen bananas, just be sure to remove any excess water.
