September was a crazy exciting month!
I shared 19 new blog posts, reached goals I hadn’t dreamed of reaching, & ate a ton of fall food!
And I am so excited to see what October brings!!
But first, lets take a look back while I share a few of my goals for the month.
A Peak Into My iPhone Photos
September was filled with doubt, prayer, & lots of faith! And through it all life continued & we saw God bless in little & big ways!
So here are some iPhone photos to give you a little glimpse of our September.
We ate some yummy pasta, which I counted as my “greens” for the day.
My sister let me where her clothes & shoes to church.
I had a sleepover with my nieces, nephew, & their adorable new puppy.
We danced in the last of summer & were dazzled by sparklers.
Roger & I enjoyed free chips from Moe’s.
My love for all things s’mores intensified with these S’mores Scones.
I spent a total of $30 at Anthropologie on a pair of pants & two tops, but I have a love-hate relationship with this particular top. What do you think?
I drank a ton of coffee in an attempt to stay awake during 2 consecutive Sundays of 6:35 & 6:00 am alarms, on top of the normal M-F early mornings.
I think I need to get more sleep…
Reading Goals & Life Lately
So I didn’t actually meet any of my September reading goals…
I had planned on finishing The Martian by Andy Weir with my husband & reading Belle by Paula Byrne on my own, but things didn’t go as planned.
While I didn’t even touch Belle, I came within about 100 pages of finishing The Martian
on time.
However, to make up for this reading lapse I went on a reading binge starting last Wednesday (the last day of September). And so far I have read The Hunger Games, Catching Fire
, & finished The Martian
– just in time to see it with Roger Sunday evening.
So I am a little over halfway done with my October reading goals. And since I read The Martian to him (mini review here), he is now going to have to listen to me read Mockingjay to him before the movie comes out.
But since the movie doesn’t come out till November 20, I have a feeling we won’t finish it until next month. Do I dare mention this is my third time reading this series?
So now that I have moved this confession from Instagram to my blog, I’m thinking I need to read something a little more calm & classic to prove I’m not a young teenage girl. Maybe Jane Austen can redeem me.
I’ll keep you updated on Instagram!
September Blog Goals, Accomplisments, & October Goals
Facebook: Goal: 4,670 -> Reality: 4,604
+ October Goal: 5,000
+ This goal seems a little far fetched, but I’d rather aim high than low. And who know, maybe if you enjoy one of my new fall posts – like these unique Caramel Apple Slices, or Apple Cider Floats, or Paper Roll Pumpkins, or DIY Fall Acorns (from Easter Eggs) – & you share it on Facebook (wink wink, hint hint) it might be possible to reach this goal!
Oh & random side note: If there are any bloggers out there reading this, you are always more than welcome to link back to any of my posts in your collections or round-ups. And if you tag me or send me the link I will be sure to share it on my social media accounts too! 🙂
Instagram: Goal: 2,750 -> Reality: 2,737
+ October Goal: 2,850
+ So close! For some reason my Instagram posts are not getting the heat they use to.
I think I might need to work on that…
Pinterest: Goal: 1,250 -> Reality: 1,651
+ October Goal: 2,500
+ At least I made this goal! I have been working really hard on growing my Pinterest followers.
I was just a few followers shy of having doubled my Pinterest followers in one month!
Maybe if I can triple my Pinterest followers by November I’ll write a blog post on my tips & tricks.
Twitter: Goal: 700 -> Reality: 689
+ October Goal: 750
+ Let’s be honest. I rarely use Twitter. When I do it’s mainly because they are being automatically shared from new Facebook or Instagram posts. Maybe someday soon I will focus on Twitter, but for now I am still focused on growing my Pinterest followers.
A note on Bloglovin & Periscope: I honestly don’t know how to grow Bloglovin & I have completely run out of time & iPhone data for Periscope. Sad but true. Maybe things will be different this month!
Views: Goal 38,000 -> Reality: 172,851
+ October Goal: 150,000
+ Wow! All I can say is PRAISE GOD!!
After I shared a Facebook post when I reached 100,000 views I had a few people ask how I did it.
To be honest I can’t take any of the credit (Romans 11:36), however since there is interest I will be writing a blog post on how my pageviews grew & it will go live on my blog this coming Sunday (October 11).

Giustina,
I love that you make time to read! As I was reading your post, I could hear your voice as if you were talking on Periscope, lol! Girrrrl, congratulations on the goals you reached! Those are impressive stats (especially your pageviews!!!)! I’m totally looking forward to your Oct 11th post because I’d love to see what you did to increase your pageviews, especially since you almost gave up blogging! Please don’t ever go anywhere!!
Hey Ashlyn!
I loved your comment about hearing my voice as you read my post! I literally laugh out loud!!
I try really hard to write like I talk & this was a wonderful confirmation that I am getting better at it! 🙂
Here’s a link to the post I shared yesterday about my page views.
Thanks for your encouragement Ashlyn!! 🙂
