This Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread is covered in sweet creamy pumpkin spice flavor and topped with a homemade cream cheese frosting.

Oh sweet pumpkin spice!
If you aren’t yet excited about pumpkin spice season, I hope this Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread recipe gets you excited for the changing seasons!
I love a good monkey bread recipe and this one tops the cake.
Probably because it almost looks like a cake!
And as you can see from the pictures, this no dry monkey bread as it’s covered in deliciously gooey pumpkin spice goodness.

At first, I wondered, is it too much? Do I need to take it down a notch?
But after just one bite I that knew it was perfect!
And what is a sweet fall brunch treat if it isn’t covered in pumpkin spice flavor?
Oh, and I say brunch pretty lightly because let’s face it, this is basically a dessert.
But if you can eat cinnamon rolls, donuts, and coffee cake for breakfast you can certainly get away with enjoying this decadent Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread for breakfast too!

And after the year we’ve had, you need not make any excuse for going in for seconds or thirds of this Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread.
Because let’s face it, we all deserve a little bit more pumpkin spice in our lives.
Luckily this recipe makes enough for 24 people to have 2 pieces each, or 12 people to have 4 pieces each, or 6 people to have 8 pieces each.
And while monkey bread is meant to be shared, believe me, there is no judgment here if you decide to make this recipe for 4 people so that each person has 12 pieces to themselves!

Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread

This Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread is covered in sweet creamy pumpkin spice flavor and topped with a homemade cream cheese frosting.
- Prep Time: 25
- Cook Time: 35
- Total Time: 1 hour
- Yield: 48 Pieces of Monkey Bread 1x
Ingredients
- 24 Frozen Dinner Rolls, defrosted *1
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
- 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Allspice
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 3 Ounces Cream Cheese
- 1/2 Cup Pure Pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Butter, melted & cooled
- 2 Ounces Cream Cheese, room temperature
- 1 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray your bundt pan with cooking oil.
- In a large food storage container (or large plastic storage bag), mix the 1/2 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, and 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice.
- Next, cut all of the dinner rolls in half, place them inside the food storage container, seal the container, and shake it to evenly coat the dinner rolls in cinnamon sugar. I find that it helps to sugar coat a few at a time so that they don’t all stick together.
- In a small saucepan over medium-low heat add 1/2 cup butter, 3 ounces cream cheese, 1/2 cup pumpkin, 1 cup brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Whisk continuously until the mixture is smooth, about 2-3 minutes, and then remove the pan from the heat.
- Place 1/2 of the cinnamon sugar-coated dough balls in the base of the bundt cake and top with half of the creamy pumpkin mixture. Then fill the bundt cake with the remaining sugar-coated dough balls and the rest of the creamy pumpkin mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and the dough is thoroughly baked.
- Let the Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread cool for 5 minutes, then invert on a cake plate, and leave the bundt pan on top for an additional 5-10 minutes before removing the bundt pan from the Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread.
- While the Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread is cooling, place 2 tablespoons butter, 2 ounces cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extra in a small bowl and blend until combined.
- Drizzle the cream cheese icing on top of the cooled Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread and enjoy!
Notes
- I usually let them sit out on the counter to defrost for a few hours before making monkey bread.
I hope you enjoy your Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread!
