Ring in the holiday season with this DIY Silver Bell Wreath for your home!
We just finished a fun, busy, & cold weekend! And yesterday was especially crazy! We ate half a breakfast & immediately set to work. Roger’s brother (in-law) came over & together they finished drilling the holes in the bathroom tile & put into place the heavy glass panels.
Which means today we finally get to begin enjoying our newly renovated bathroom!
It’s been a long time coming & it will be so nice not to have to go up & down the stairs to take showers anymore. Plus, Roger has put the finishing touches on our faucets. So no more stumbling around in the dark in the middle of the night to the hall half bath.
And speaking of renovations, this will be the last week we have carpet in our living room! While many are planning their big black Friday shopping adventures we are preparing to rip out the carpet & lay solid bamboo floors.
Which means our house will be all ready for a big festive Christmas tree. If we can get the whole living room ripped out & put back together on Friday then we plan on going Saturday night to get a Christmas tree for our first house.
We plan on placing our Christmas tree right next to this big mirror in our living room.
I’m absolutely in love with this Silver Bell Wreath, with its extra long ribbon bow, on our big mirror.
While I would love to keep this wreath right where it is (year round!), I have a feeling that once we move everything out of the living room to renovate the floors, my current Christmas decorations will also get moved about.
Right now our Silver Bell Wreath is hanging on a large Command™ Brand General Purpose Hook on our oversized mirror. Which is great because we really love this mirror & their products are damage-free & remove cleanly from surfaces with no holes or sticky residue left behind.
I picked up two different packs of indoor Command™ Brand Damage-Free Hanging for organizing & decorating while at Target. I bought a package that came with 2 large hooks (for this Silver Bell Wreath) & a package with 3 smaller hooks to help organize our newly renovated kitchen.
Since Command™ Indoor Decorating Products are approved for smooth, sealed & finished indoor surfaces I knew they would be a great way to store/hang my pot holders on the cabinet door next to our oven.
And since the large general purpose Command™ Brand hooks came in a pack of two, I am tempted to make a second Silver Bell Wreath & hang them across from each other in our entry way.
How cute would that be!?
I have a feeling that this Silver Bell Wreath is going to move around a lot this holiday season! And luckily moving it will be a cinch since the package came with 2 hooks & 4 large strips. So you can take it down, move, & reuse them again & again!
You can find the right hook for your decorating needs at this site, which is a place for more great content. And there will be Target circular ad offers November 26-December 2 on Command™ Brand products for 5% off.
I found the bells for this DIY Silver Bell Wreath at a variety of different places. And I love that there are a variety of shades of silver, some are matte, some are shiny, & some of them are even covered in silver glitter!
Command™ Brand product appropriate for your surface & decoration weight (I used an indoor General Purpose hook with a weight limit of 5 pounds)
Wire Wreath Frame
Silver Bells (be sure to weigh your silver bells to make sure they match the Command™ Brand hook weight instructions)
Hot Glue Gun & Glue
The first step, before creating your Silver Bell Wreath, is to clean & prep the area for your beautiful holiday wreath using a cloth dampened with water or isopropyl rubbing alcohol. And be sure to let it dry before mounting the product.
I then applied the hook to the mirror according to the packaging instructions.
You will then need to wait one hour before hanging it from the hook. Which gives you just the right amount of time to create your Silver Bell Wreath!
I placed the 2nd Command™ Brand hook at the top of my wire wreath frame as a guide/marker & then hot glued the bells all around it, but not touching it so that it would hang properly.
I first hot glued the medium & large silver bells around the whole wreath & then I hot glued the 2 smaller types of silver bells on top of the larger ones to cover any holes or visible gaps.
Finally, top your wreath with a large ribbon bow.
It took me a little over an hour to create my Silver Bell Wreath, which was perfect timing for the Command™ Brand hook!
Now there is just one important thing to remember, your Silver Bell Wreath is going to be fragile. So be extra careful not to drop it & I wouldn’t recommend placing it on a door that might be slammed shut. If you are worried about it, you can carefully flip the wreath over & add extra globs of hot glue to your bells & wreath form where no one will see them.
Just make sure to let it dry/cool thoroughly before hanging it again on your Command™ Brand hook.
I am so excited to add more Christmas decorations around our Silver Bell Wreath & our home this weekend! And I love that this Silver Bell Wreath is the perfect color for transitioning from Christmas decorations to winter decorations.
I have a feeling that our Silver Bell Wreath is going to move all over our house, with the Command™ Brand hook, between now & spring.
