Don’t you just love fun free cute crafts? I am pretty much addicted to them! I had some sticks left over from my DIY Sparkling Sliver Branches so instead of just throwing them out I thought I would make a Winter Stick Heart that can be displayed through January & well into February!
Right now it is sitting above my fireplace until I decide exactly where I want to display my Winter Stick Heart. I’m thinking I might exchange the little Christmas wreath on my Christmas Card Display for this – making it a Winter Stick Heart Wreath! Although I love this Winter Stick Heart I’m not really sure if I want to use it with my Valentine’s decor. I have been really excited about Valentines because I have a specific theme in mind that I think you all will love – PS there is a hint in this picture so stay tuned.
Until then I think my Winter Stick Heart will just keep traveling around our little home until I find just the right place for it & although you can’t see it in these pictures it has a pretty little sparkle to it!
What you’ll need:
Hot Glue Gun & Glue
White Acrylic Paint, Water, Paint Brush, Small Bowl
Krylon Glitter Blast Diamond Dust – optional
Twine – optional
First, create the shape of a heart using some of your bigger sticks. Then glue the sticks together using your hot glue gun.
Then just start layering the sticks & glueing them together – using the big sticks first than the little ones.
Then in a small bowl mix some white acrylic paint & water together & white wash the sticks. Once dry I sprayed my Winter Stick Heart with Krylon Glitter Blast Diamond Dust just because I love sparkles – but this is part is optional!
If you decide you want to hang the heart you can add a small loop of twine to the back of the heart either by tying it to a stick or hot glueing it to a stick.
Then hang the heart on your door or place it on your mantel.
